This course is an experiential and critical exploration of the practice of pastoral care, which frequently includes counseling. The art and discipline of pastoral care is a practical theological activity, thus grounded in the integration of theology, religious tradition, and the nature of ministry. The ability to be an instrument of God's caring activity also is vitally linked to an awareness of one's gifts, growing edges, and attention to care for oneself.
